Internet Explorer offers three forms of home page, about:blank, custom or default. About:blank displays a blank white screen or no homepage, this is the most basic option available. Custom home pages are the most useful as this will load your favourite webpage on start up or any time you click the “Home” icon. Finally the default option is points to Microsoft’s own msn.com. You can choose any option you want but many people advise setting your home page to a search engine such as Google.

FIXED : There was a problem starting NVCPL.DLL Windows 7

NVCPL.DLL  error. Once again more RunDLL errors, this time the effected DLL is NVCPL.DLL this DLL is not a main windows system file so you can relax there is no need to go hunting out those windows disks.

WMI : Event 10 – Error 0x80041003.

Windows Management Instruction errors are the bain of my existance, several times a day I come across WMI errors in the office but now to top it off I come home to a nice relaxing night and am confronted with a slower loading machine.

Upon investigating the EventViewer (which can be access by typing eventvwr in the run bar) sit a red error and just look what appears next to it in the source….. WMI!

Fixing a computer that will not switch on

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)

The dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) that you have all seen since you have been competent enough to type. The BSOD is windows’ way of protecting itself and the components within the computer. This blue screen is windows being forced to “stop” when a serious error has occurred. Since there is no friendly errors on screen to help diagnose the issue this is where the headaches usually start.
